Medical Team

Their extensive experience with obstetrics - both uncomplicated and high risk-provides the foundation for the finest care possible.

There are four Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists on staff in our practice. Collectively, they are considered national experts in the field of high-risk obstetrics, OB-GYN ultrasound, and prenatal diagnosis. They are also renowned for their research and teaching skills in this unique specialty.

Three general Obstetrician/Gynecologists round out the medical staff at Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates and enable us to provide the full range of women's healthcare services within one medical practice. In addition to their extensive experiences in high risk obstetrical settings, they have particular expertise in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, colposcopy, and gynecologic ultrasound.

A highly trained and expert staff of registered nurses, ultrasound technicians, and other support professionals assist with precise attention to your care. The members of our Team provide sophisticated, leading-edge reproductive medicine in a supportive atmosphere.

Dr. Rebarber is a board certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist with subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. He completed his MFM fellowship training at Yale University and was a member of the New York University School of Medicine faculty where he served in numerous leadership positions prior to his current role.

 

As a board certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist Dr. Gottlieb attends to the full spectrum of issues that can affect a women's  reproductive health – including obstetrics, gynecologic care, menopausal issues, gynecologic surgery and gynecologic ultrasound. Her special practice interests include adolescent medicine and gynecologic surgery.

 

Chad KlauserChad Klauser, MD is a board certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist and a board certified Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist. Dr. Klauser provides prenatal care, obstetrical deliveries and perinatal consultations at Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates as well as OB-GYN ultrasound services and prenatal diagnostic testing in our imaging affiliate, Carnegie Imaging for Women.  As a Perinatologist, he specializes in medically complicated obstetrics and prenatal diagnostic ultrasound.

 

Dr. Daniel Saltzman is a board certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist with subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. He currently serves as a Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan, and is a voluntary faculty member at New York University Medical School. He completed his MFM fellowship training at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School and has since held numerous leadership positions while serving on the faculty at Harvard Medical School, SUNY Stony Brook and New York University.

 

Dr. Michael Silverstein is a Board Certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist. He was on faculty in the Department of OB-GYN at New York University until 2005, and served as the Director of the OB-GYN student clerkship during his tenure there. He currently serves as a clinical faculty member at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His career is noted for his dedication to medical student and resident teaching as demonstrated by the numerous awards and citations he has received for such. Dr. Silverstein’s dedication to education has been a hallmark of his entire career - he was a teacher of special education for several years before attending medical school.

 

Nathan Fox, MD is a board certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist with subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine. He completed his MFM fellowship training at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Fox provides prenatal care, obstetrical deliveries and perinatal consultations at Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates. He also provides OB-GYN ultrasound services and prenatal diagnostic testing in our imaging affiliate, Carnegie Imaging for Women. As a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, Dr. Fox specializes in medically complicated pregnancies and prenatal diagnostic ultrasound.

 

Samuel Bender MD is a Board Certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist, a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Since residency, Dr. Bender has focused his work in settings dedicated to the care of high risk obstetrical patients.  He was a valued member of the MFM faculty practice at New York University for several years and currently serves on the faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

 

Dr. Ashley S. Roman is a board-certified Obstetrician / Gynecologist with subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine who works exclusively in MFMA’s imaging affiliate, Carnegie Imaging for Women (www.CarnegieImaging.com) She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at both New York University School of Medicine and Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

 

Ms Jimenez is a board Certified Nurse-Midwife.  She started her career at the Childbearing Center of Morris Heights in the Bronx where she spent 10 years providing the community with gynecological and prenatal care.  Ms. Jimenez has attended thousands of deliveries at the facility’s free-standing birthing center.  Given the unique setting, women labored without anesthesia, using various techniques, such as, massage and jacuzzi.

 

Yorleny received her Physician Assistant degree from City College Medical School in 1989 and started her career in primary healthcare.  She quickly found her passion in women’s health and went on to further her knowledge and skills by obtaining her Midwifery training and license from SUNY Downstate in 1998.

 

Dr. Stephanie Melka is a board eligible OB/GYN who joined the practice in 2012 after completing her residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. She served as administrative chief resident and received several medical student teaching awards as well as the Chairman’s Award for Professionalism. She received her B.S from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania with a double major in chemistry and Russian studies. She completed medical school at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn. Her areas of clinical interest include high risk pregnancies, office gynecologic procedures and laparoscopic gynecologic surgeries.
