How Do I Find a Good NYC Gynecologist?

When looking for OB-GYN services in New York, you’ll find a lot of options that can make it hard to choose between women’s health centers. To help make the decision process easier, consider these questions and criteria:

  • Check with your health insurance provider to see which gynecologists are in-network
  • Consider the location(s) of the practice; will going to appointments be convenient for your lifestyle?
  • What services do they offer? Will you need to go somewhere else for additional treatment if necessary?
  • Ask friends or family members who have had good experiences with their OB-GYN for recommendations
  • Are they committed to keeping up-to-date with technology and techniques?
  • Evaluate your ideal communication style and your personality to compare to doctors you may meet

By partnering with world-renowned and full-service associate facilities, Maternal Fetal Medicine Associates offers comprehensive health care solutions for women in New York, NY who are looking for kind and highly experienced doctors. Each physician on staff at MFMA is board certified in OBGYN and is highly regarded by both their patients and medical peers.  Furthermore, the Practice’s  state-of-the-art technology allows MFMA’s OB-GYNs to detect, diagnose, and treat any number of health concerns to keep women healthy through puberty, pregnancy, and childbirth, and anything else that may arise.

When Do I Need to Go to a Gynecologist?

There are several reasons someone may want or need to see an OB-GYN. Women’s bodies experience tremendous changes throughout their lifetime, regardless of whether they become pregnant or not. While some people experience symptoms and conditions that clearly require specialist treatments, it’s also important to have regular check-ups as a preventative measure.

Adolescent Gynecology

Many people’s first visit to a gynecologist is during puberty. It’s normal for the first few years of menstruation to be slightly irregular, and a gynecologist can help young women understand the changes their bodies are going through and how to handle these changes.

Young women can begin with a routine examination around the ages of 13 and 15 to ensure nothing’s wrong, even if patients aren’t experiencing symptoms. On the other hand, patients should definitely seek out an expert if issues arise; for example, if menstruation doesn’t begin before age 16 or if they experience symptoms such as an abnormally heavy flow or very painful periods. .

The expert gynecologists at MFMA are here to help you or your loved one get the care you need, whether to solve a problem that’s gotten in the way of living a normal life, or to ensure your well-being.

Obstetrics and Gynecology

The OB-GYNs at MFMA are here to help you with every aspect of your pregnancy or family planning needs. From birth control solutions to obstetrical deliveries, we’ll be with you every step of your pregnancy to protect your health and the health of your baby.

Patients should seek an OB-GYN for any of the following reasons:

  • If you would like to conceive but are not able to (infertility services)
  • You’re interested in contraceptive devices to prevent pregnancy (family planning services)
  • You suspect or know you’re pregnant (prenatal care)
  • You’re planning on becoming pregnant (preconception counseling)

Once you’ve established a relationship with one of our OB-GYNs for any of these reasons, you’ll be kept up to date with appointments, treatment options and instructions, and anything else you need to meet your healthcare goals.
